Accounting/Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and energetic Accounting/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a one-year contract position with possibility of extension. Competitive salary with fully paid MSP and Group Medical Plan coverage after 3 months.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Accounting tasks – 60%

  • Prepare and post journal entries using accounting software
  • Record A/P, A/R, intra-company invoicing
  • Perform bank reconciliations/credit card reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of regular external filings such as GST, PST and T4’s
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
  • Manage timesheet system and other payroll related duties as assigned
  • Organize and maintain accounting files and filing systems
  • Assist in other accounting related projects, as assigned

Office Administration tasks – 40%

  • Perform general office administration duties as assigned
  • Maintain overall office tidiness
  • Back up support for HR/Administrative Assistant


  • 1+ years of bookkeeping and administrative experience. Background should include AP, AR, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and report preparation
  • Diploma in Accounting   
  • Experience with Sage and Quickbooks software programs
  • High intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Superior attention to detail, and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with ADP payroll considered an asset
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs


  • Japanese language is an asset but not required
